Fasih Startup Wins in “TAQADAM” Progress Program
The TAQADAM Accelerator Program, implemented by King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, provides Saudi university students, faculty, and recent graduates with the tools and support needed to successfully launch a technology-based company through training on ideas, marketing, fundraising, and product design.
In its third run this year, the program received 518 applications and 42 start-up companies were accepted, while the total number of businessmen and women reached 133 people, 35% of whom were female, with the participation of several universities. 18 start-up companies qualified for the finals, of which 6 won, including Faseh.
Fasih company was established by Dr. Hind bint Suleiman Al-Khalifa and master's student Rawan bint Nasser Al-Mu'athim from the Department of Information Technology at the College of Computer and Information Sciences, and they developed the company's first application, "Baligh Game", which develops Arabic language skills among young people. These skills are derived from the verbal part of the aptitude test provided by the Qiyas Center for high school students. Baligh has been developed based on the latest technologies and research related to education to give students a great incentive to continue training and raise their linguistic score through intensive daily exercises, experimental tests, and online group challenges. Baligh also has measures of player performance to know the extent of their progress to develop their weaknesses in various skills.
Fasih Company hopes that "Baligh Game" will be the first destination for young people to develop their language skills and raise the level of their grades in the verbal part of the Qiyas test. It also seeks to add the quantitative part to be an integrated platform that serves them in all sections of the test. It has plans to develop several Arabic language games that will serve different age groups.
