Muhammad Khurram Khan, a distinguished professor of cybersecurity at KSU’s Center of Excellence in Information Assurance, has been included as “Best Computer Scientist in the World”, and has also been recognized with the “Computer Science Leader Award for 2023” by the prestigious global ranking source research.com. Prof. Khan is ranked 3 in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and 761 (out of 14402 scientists) in the world in the field of computer science.

It’s worth mentioning that Prof. Khan is the author of over 450 research publications and the inventor of 10 US patents. He was the recipient of the King Saud University Award for Scientific Excellence (Research Productivity) in 2015. He was also a recipient of the King Saud University Award for Scientific Excellence (Inventions, Innovations, and Technology Licensing) in 2016. He is the editor-in-chief of the prestigious journal "Telecommunications Systems (Springer-Nature)" and also serves on the editorial board of several top-quartile journals of the IEEE, Elsevier, Springer, Wiley, etc. He is known for his contributions to cybersecurity, digital authentication, IoT security, AI cybersecurity, connected and autonomous vehicles cybersecurity, blockchain, child online protection, etc. His research has been cited over 24,000 times with an outstanding h-index of 83 (Google Scholar). His contributions to cybersecurity have had considerable industrial, academic, and societal impact. He has received several best paper awards from IEEE and Elsevier journals. Prof. Khan has represented KSU with over 100 keynotes, panels, and invited speeches locally and globally. Thinkers360 (USA) has recognized him as a global thought leader and influencer in cybersecurity and IoT. The United Nations and the G20 have featured his contributions in the domain of cybersecurity and cyber public policy.
