Scientific Research in Accordance with Saudi Vision 2030
On the 18th of Feb 2018, under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed Al-Issa Minister of Education in KSA, and on his behalf, Dr. Badran Al-Omar the Rector of KSU inaugurated the scientific research forum under the slogan "Scientific Research in Accordance with Saudi Vision 2030 ". The Forum lasted for 5 days and there was a live broadcast in the female Section at KSU university and was coincided with an exhibition and more than 40 activities a seminar, lectures, workshops, initiatives, training courses and a competition.
The forum began with a lecture entitled "the Kingdom's approaches in Scientific Research in accordance with Saudi Vision 2030 " presented by Prince Dr. Turki bin Saud bin Mohammad Al Saud, President of King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, covering the status quo of research outputs, Where he responded to the questions of the participants of the seminar, followed by the speech of Dr. Fahad ALSherehy, General Manager of (SABIC).
After that, Dr. Sultan Al Sedairy, Executive Director of the research center at King Faisal specialist hospital, addressed the acceptable and unacceptable paraphrasing in research. Also, Dr. Hisham Al-Hadlaq reaffirmed that"universities are the main engine for supporting scientific research and that this forum is part of the development system of the Ministry of Education". Among the participants was Prof. Ahmad AL-Aamri.
Then, the opportunity for participating questions and discussion was made available through the forum's hashtag, in turn, a preview was displayed about the "Initiatives and Development Programs" of the Deanship of Scientific Research. It is noteworthy that the forum was streamed live online through KSU social accounts. As well as, Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al-Humizi, Dean of Scientific Research and Chairman of the Organizing Committee, explained that "the Ministry of Education will present a new initiative on research and development, will launch several initiatives like Joint National Research Projects –JNRP, E-Portal for applying for research programs".
The forum addressed a number of issues and topics such as the authenticity of scientific research, joint national research and current challenges in scientific publication.
