Blood Donation Campaign at KSU
Female Student Campus has partnered with University Medical City for November’s blood donation campaign, which encourages community members to donate blood under the patronage of Vice-Rector, Dr. Ghada bin Saif.
The blood donation campaign promotes a culture of voluntary blood donation by educating people on the importance of blood donation for both donors and patients and how it can make a positive impact on the lives of many patients. The campaign received enthusiastic donors through the period of 10-12 Nov 2019 from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m.
The Director of Laboratories and Blood Banks, Dr. Rana Hasanato, said that donating can have positive health benefits for the donor through Improving blood circulation and hence Reducing cardiovascular disease and Cancer Risk.
Blood donors have to be generally in a good health, at least 18 years old (maximum age: 65 years), Weighs at least 50Kg, Hemoglobin levels are (14 to 17 for men) and (12 to 14 for women) and Blood Pressure is less than 120/80.
