Two Initiatives launched During Volunteerism office’s Annual Closing Ceremony

Under the patronage of Vice Rector for Female Student Affairs, Prof. Ghada Bin Saif, the volunteerism office in the Female Students Campus held its closing ceremony on January 5. During the ceremony the distinguished volunteers were honored and two initiatives were launched.

Dr. Bin Saif commended the tremendous efforts of the volunteers and expressed her pride in the country and the attention paid by our wise leadership to volunteerism and humanitarian initiatives. The government’s efforts were not confined locally, but the government is always the first to extend a helping hand to other countries in compliance with the teachings of Islam. KSU has focused on volunteerism as one of the main pillars of its strategic plan, and had reached 400,000 volunteers by the end of the year. Dr. Bin Saif then thanked the education leaders and each volunteer from KSU’s students, staff and faculty.

During the ceremony, the efforts of the volunteerism office had been reviewed along with the partnership agreements with the development associations and sectors. Foremost among these are the partnership agreement with Saudi Volunteer Organization (Takatuf), launching the vaccinating center in the Female Students Campus and the University Hospitals, and launching Vaccination Campaign Against Covid 19 (Tahassan).

Moreover, two Initiatives were launched during the ceremony (Virtual Consulting Platform) for the faculty members to provide consultation services and (Skills and Talents) to reveal the technical and creative skills among KSU students and staff.

At the end of the ceremony, the participating organizations, administrations, teams, and distinguished volunteers were honored.

Two workshops accompanied the ceremony, “Volunteer Work” presented by Dr. Huda Hijazi and “Volunteerism and the Social Capital” presented by Dr. Mona Al-Guraiby.
