Under the patronage of the Vice Rector for Female Students, Prof. Ghada bint Abdulaziz bin Saif, the College of Medicine held an International Women's Day event called “Together We Celebrate the Achievements of Women at King Saud University” on the 8th of March.

On behalf of the Vice Rector, the event opened with a speech by Dr. Malak Qattan, the Vice Rector’s Assistant for University Facilities Affairs, expressing her pride of women’s achievements and their pioneering role in society.

After that, Dr. Hanan bint Ahmed Habib, Vice Dean of Medicine College, gave a welcoming speech and reviewed the programs accompanying the event, and then inaugurated the exhibition in which many colleges and clubs participated.

Among the most prominent exhibitors were the Innovation Center which encouraged innovators to serve the community, and the Nano Club which showed their support for students and their research, and expressed their pride in (Mona Awad); the first woman to issue a scientific research on nanotechnology. Other exhibitors were College of Sports Sciences, College of Nursing, Cultural and Social Clubs in College of Medicine, and College of Languages and Translation.

A number of lectures, dialogue sessions and advisory sessions were held over two days in support of International Women's Day.
